We
connect individuals to available resources by assessing their
needs, determining program eligibility and implementing necessary
services. Gaps in services are identified and programs are developed
to bridge these gaps. Volunteers and staff conduct face-to-face
interviews with walk-in clients as well as clients referred
by other agencies or organizations. Assistance can include, but is not limited to: housing, providing
subsidies for utility payments, employment training and placement,
transportation, prescription coverage, home visitation, shopping,
locating and applying for admission to assisted living and long
term care facilities, financial management, access to legal
services, counseling and advocacy. Persons referred to our agency
are followed throughout the continuum to ensure all needs are
addressed. Additionally, staff works to implement culturally sensitive
programs and services to better the quality of life for persons
in our communities. LifeStyles is familiar with and complies
to the extent applicable, with all requirements of the federal
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
and agrees to comply with the Maryland Confidentiality of Medical
Records Act. Please click here for a listing of emergency assistance resources in the Southern
Maryland region. “For more information, please contact: (301) 609-9900,
